Graduation year feels especially meaningful for me this time around because I’m not just capturing senior photos—I’m also planning my own children’s graduation parties! This moment hits differently than I expected. The emotions have been overwhelming at times, as my babies prepare to graduate high school and embark on their next big adventures.
A Bittersweet Farewell to High School Days
For us, that means sending one child off to Bowling Green State University and another to Air Force boot camp. Though both are four-year journeys, they represent two very different paths full of new challenges and growth. I’m filled with excitement and pride for them, but also a touch of sadness. It’s an emotional rollercoaster watching them take these steps toward independence.
Witnessing New Adventures Through Senior Photography
As a photographer, I also find myself a little jealous thinking about all the new firsts they’ll experience surrounded by new friends and opportunities—things I’ve been privileged to witness for the past 18 years. Now, they’ll be starting their journey into adulthood without me by their side for every moment. Still, I can’t wait to see what the next four years bring. Let the adventures begin!
